Confessions of a Candle Snob: Volume 15
After far too many months, HANDWASH. IS. BACK. On Thursday, we restocked the core scents (Signature, Miami, New York, Hamptons) and added two new scents (London, Aspen). But let's back up a bit.
Let me tell you about Pumpgate 2026.
Six months ago, we received the final production run of our Hand Wash. After getting flooded with messages begging for a restock, we were more than ready to bring it back.
Everything looked perfect. Everything smelled perfect. But something felt... less than perfect.
When we tested the pump, we found the soap was spurting— not flowing. Immediate red flag.
After some investigating, Matt discovered that a tiny mechanism inside the pump had been changed between the approved sample and the final production run, which meant that silky flow-into-lather experience was off.
So we went back to square one. Which, honestly, is probably what you should expect from a company run by a perfectionist eldest daughter and a very Virgo Virgo.
As you can imagine, this was not exactly a quick process. But it did give us extra time to obsess over finalizing another long-requested product: the Hand Cream.
I've been a hand cream devotee for as long as could remember, but I could never find one that checked all the boxes for me—so we decided to make one ourselves.
This formula (over two years in the making!) absorbs in seconds, leaves no residue, and forms an invisible glove on your hands that locks in hydration for hours. Of course, the fragrance lingers long after.
Then, in March, we received word that the new Hand Wash pumps had officially arrived and everything was back on track. Which felt like the perfect excuse to launch the Hand Cream too— a little treat for surviving Pumpgate 2026 with us.
Thank you so much for being patient with us while we painstakingly obsessed over every last detail, argued over soap pumps like our lives depended on it, and refused to launch anything that didn’t feel absolutely perfect.
We’d always rather make you wait than make you settle. And I have a feeling the second these meet your sink counter, you’ll understand exactly why.
