A Guide to Nantucket
To celebrate the launch of our newest scent duo, Nantucket Summer, we're sharing the personal guide we hand to friends every time they tell us they're heading out to the island.
There are a handful of places in the world that smell so specific you could close your eyes and know exactly where you are. Nantucket is one of them. Salt air and aged cedar, cottage roses spilling over picket fences, sweet strawberries picked from Bartlett’s Farm. Our newest scents—Strawberry Fields and Wild Rose & Sea Salt—bottle those feelings. The kind of light, breezy, slightly nostalgic air that lingers on your sweater after a long beach day.
We've been coming to Nantucket for years, and over time we've built the kind of list that lives in the back of our phone, the one we send to anyone who asks where to eat, where to wander, and where to skip the line for the morning bun. Here it is in full. Bookmark it, screenshot it, bring it with you. We hope it makes your trip a little more delicious.
Where to Stay
The Nantucket Hotel. An island mainstay. Classic, family-friendly, in the heart of town with two pools and an easy walk to Main Street and the harbor. Pop into their boutique to shop our new Nantucket Summer collection!
White Elephant. The iconic harborside grand dame, with views straight out onto the boats and the complimentary Wauwinet Lady launch leaving from the dock.
The Wauwinet. The island's only Relais & Châteaux property, set on a quiet stretch at the northeast end with two private beaches and the legendary Topper's on site.
Greydon House. A 20-room boutique in an 1850 Greek Revival just off the wharf, designed by Roman & Williams with hand-painted Portuguese tiles, John Robshaw linens, and an English garden out back.
Faraway Nantucket. A stylish boutique tucked into a historic Centre Street building, home to Sister Ship downstairs and a younger, scene-ier crowd than the grand dames.
76 Main. A cozy, intimate boutique inn for travelers who want something smaller and more residential.
Things to Do
Bartlett's Farm. Nantucket's oldest working farm, with a beautiful market and prepared foods stand, plus pick-your-own strawberries in late June that have become a true island rite of summer (and the inspiration behind our newest Strawberry Fields scent!)

The Sconset Bluff Walk is the single most romantic thing you can do on the island. Tuck a coffee in one hand and wander the path that threads behind the rose-covered shingled cottages along the bluff. (The ones that inspired our Wild Rose & Sea Salt Scent.)
Hospital Thrift Shop is a Nantucket tradition since 1929, with seriously good finds (Lilly, Loro Piana, vintage Reds) on India Street, and every dollar benefits Nantucket Cottage Hospital.
Pair it with a stop at Sconset Market for a warm blueberry muffin first.

The walk to Steps Beach delivers one of the prettiest descents in New England, a hydrangea-lined staircase down to the sand.
Cisco Brewers is the island's outdoor living room. Go for lunch and graze the food trucks, or roll in around four when the live music starts and the courtyard fills up.
Brant Point Lighthouse is the postcard moment, especially at golden hour.
Book the harbor shuttle from the White Elephant to Wauwinet for a long, lazy brunch. The boat ride alone is worth it.
The Saturday Farmers Market runs 8:30 to 12:30, and it's the best place to stock up on flowers, peaches, and people-watching.
For something a little more adventurous, set sail on the Endeavor, a 31-foot Friendship sloop that's been doing harbor cruises out of Straight Wharf since the eighties.
Coffee & Breakfast
Handlebar Cafe.
Roastd is worth the trip just outside of town — they make their own nut milks.
45 Surfside does excellent grab-and-go breakfast in addition to coffee.
Black-Eyed Susan's is universally recognized as the best breakfast on the island.
Wicked Island Bakery’s morning bun is one of those iconic things you'll think about long after you leave. Go right when they open during the week if you want to skip the line.
Sconset Market. Their blueberry muffins are the stuff of legend. Get one warm, then walk the bluff.
Lemon Press. A great grab-and-go for coffees, matchas, and pressed juices, and lovely for a sit-down breakfast or lunch too.
Downyflake. Old-school diner with the best donuts on the island.
Island Kitchen. A reliable, beloved spot for a proper breakfast.
Born and Bread. One of our go-to coffee shops. We dream of their breakfast sandwiches (and THAT BREAD!), and to-go sandwiches for the beach are all worth the stop.
Lunch
Something Natural. The best sandwiches to take to the beach. Homemade Portuguese bread is a must.
Millie's. A great casual lunch, and just as good for a low-key dinner.
167 Raw food truck (parked at 167 Raw). Our pick for the best lobster roll on the whole island.
Claudette's. A very close second to Something Natural, with delicious breakfast sandwiches too. Out in Sconset.
Provisions. Right in town. Order a Thanksgiving sandwich and grab a seat on a bench outside to people-watch.

Dinner
Cru. The place to see and be seen. And to have a Lobster Roll. Do as the regulars do and order a CRUCumber Martini.
Straight Wharf. Considered by many to be the best on Nantucket. You can watch the boats roll in while indulging in chilled oysters. The kind of seafood that tastes like it was pulled out of the water that morning.
Bar Yoshi. Sushi and raw bar at 21 Old South Wharf, with a buzzy waterfront patio that gets going at sunset.
Topper's at The Wauwinet. Take the complimentary Wauwinet Lady boat from the White Elephant for the full experience.
Ventuno. A buzzy Italian spot in town with handmade pastas, a great wine list, and a back bar that turns into one of the better late-night scenes on the island.
LoLa 41. Sushi and small-plates that's been the hot reservation in town for years.
Nautilus. Hard to get a reservation, but worth waiting for. Prepare to have dreams about the crispy oyster tacos and the blue crab fried rice.
American Seasons. A romantic, low-lit fixture in town with one of the most thoughtful wine lists on the island.
Sister Ship. Inside the Faraway hotel, with a moody Mediterranean menu and cocktails to match.
The Chanticleer. A truly special, romantic dining experience.
Sconset Cafe. A tiny, beloved dining room in the heart of Sconset that's been quietly perfecting peanut-crusted halibut for over thirty years. BYOB.
Galley Beach. Go for the crab cakes with a side of breathtaking sunsets. (We love it for lunch, too.)
Oran Mor Bistro. Tucked up a flight of copper stairs in a historic Nantucket home.
Drinks
Club Car. The piano bar is so much fun for a post-dinner drink if you're up for a night out.
Sand Bar. Stop in for frozé at lunch, or go for happy hour on Friday when the live music starts.
Cru Back Bar. Always a fun scene.
