When we look for destinations to inspire our scents, I'm always thinking about places that people have an almost cult-like obsession with. To say that's true of Nantucket would be an understatement

For anyone who's never been: it's a small island thirty miles off the coast of Cape Cod, equal parts charming and romantic, the kind of place that feels like it belongs to another, more idyllic moment in time.

 I didn't grow up coming to Nantucket, but the moment I stepped off the ferry on my first trip a few years ago, I understood why people are so fiercely protective of it, and so devoted to keeping its magic and charm intact.

Over the past few summers, I've spent time getting to know the island inside and out, and some of the incredible people who call it home. (People like Georgie Morley, the incredible photographer who shot our entire campaign, and Emily Ott Hollister, founder of Millie & Grace, the first retailer on the island to sell our candles!)

There was never a question in my mind that it would be the perfect muse for a summer collection. It feels like a little secret that's deeply special to you, and to everyone who's lucky enough to have experienced it.

But here's something I haven't told anyone yet: this collection was only ever supposed to be one scent.

The Original Vision

That scent was Wild Rose & Sea Salt (the one in the powder blue vessel.) I fell completely in love with the idea of doing a salty floral fragrance, inspired by the actual wild roses that grow across the beaches and directly out of the sand dunes on the island.

It captures a beautifully unique, salty coastal floral note that is unlike anything else—the exact scent of walking the shoreline on a warm afternoon.

Why We Pivoted

But then, plans changed in the best way possible. A friend of the brand, Carly Riordan—who you may know on Instagram as @Carly—slid into our Instagram DMs with an idea so brilliant I literally couldn't say no.

Her family has been spending summers on Nantucket for decades, and the scent was one she'd been dreaming about for a while.

Because of her, we decided at the absolute last minute to add a second scent to the collection: Strawberry Fields.

The fragrance is inspired by the iconic strawberry-picking season at Bartlett's Farm, which is a massive, generations-deep family tradition for so many people who visit the island.

Even if you've never been to Bartlett's Farm, close your eyes and imagine taking that first bite into a perfectly ripe, summer strawberry. It’s fresh, it's juicy, it's not too sweet—it is pure, nostalgic childhood memories in a jar.

A Little Salty, A Little Sweet

To me, these two candles capture the duality of Nantucket perfectly: a little salty, a little sweet, and the kind of scent memory that pulls you right back to a specific moment in time.

They are the ultimate way to kick off the summer season, and I am so incredibly excited for you to experience them.
